Fuji Fine Pix 2600Z

  1. Hope you can help me. Until yesterday I loved this camera! I shoot a
picture, the power light blinks green then yellow and then red and the
diplay screen on the camera says "Write Error" and sometimes, but not all
the time, it says "Card Full!" after that. There are no photos on the
camera. So I bought new rechargeable batteries and a new memory card. 128mg
Smart Media at Walmart last night as everyone I talked to said I just wore
out the memory card cuz I use it so much. Well it's still doing the same
stuff and no photos. Have I messed up a setting or gotten another bad card?
    Thanks, Nan Greenly

Perhaps ther contacts in the camera's memory slot are dirty, or you have
touched the gold areas of the SmartMedia. I don't think the batteries have
anything to do with it, since the camera just wouldn't power up correctly.
Try using a blast of air to clean out the memory slot.

Did you format either card in the camera?

  4. The first card worked for about five months before the error started
yesterday. Have never formatted either card. Could I have accidently done
    something?

  5. Thanks I will try that and let you know.
I only touch the card when I put it in and then it stays there.
    Thanks, Nan

First thing to try whenever you have a problem with a media card is to
    reformat in the camera.

Yes.it should be. Look for a setup menu on the camera.

  9. Ed,
When I format the screen goes blue and stays that way. Won't shut off or
anything. Is it supposed to take a long time?
    Thanks, Nan
