Is this a highly rated digital camera? It is 6.3 MP. How do they
arrive at 12MP? Would I be better off with the Canon Powershot G5?
Would anyone recommend the Canon over the Fuji? Fuji has a $100.00
rebate good on the S7000 until the end of May or June right now...

    It's OK. dpreview.com or imaging-resoure.com for reviews.
    Interpolation - it's defined on dpreview.com's glossary.
The S7000 does have some useful features like multiple card slots and
    Microdrive support.

I have the Fuji Finepix S602 which is pretty similar to the S7000. I
would recommend a Canon over a Fuji if you prefer more saturated lively

Actually come to think of it... I'm not very happy with my Fuji Finepix.
Fuji never has firmware updates, there are quirks in the UI, focusing in
    low light is bad, etc.

I also have a Canon S400 - and while the S400 lacks the manual features
of the S602/S7000, it is head and shoulder above my S602 in terms of
    usability and picture quality.

So, I saw... go for the G5... or check the review on dpreview.com to make
    your own decision : )

  3. Where do you see a rebate of $100.00 on the S-7000 ? It is certainly on
Fuji's web site. Would like to know this as I am considering this camera.
