Fuji S2 Compactflash?

Discussion in 'Fuji' started by -=Plane Mad=-, Jan 7, 2004.

  1. Fuji state that the S2 can use Smartmedia and Microdrive.
With Microdrive being very similar to Compactflash....
Can the S2 use Compactflash cards?
    Has anybody actually tried?

    TIA

  2. I've never used anything *but* compactflash -- pair of Lexar 256MB
cards in my case, plus very rarely one of my older small ones. Works
fine. (This is also documented places like dpreview.com, by the
    way).

  5. Fuji doesn't list CF cards as compatible with any of their high bandwidth
cameras, due to CF's generally slow speed compared to MDs. You can use a CF
card and hope, but if you have problems Fuji won't consider it a warranty
    item.

The only Fuji cameras that consistent have major problems with the slow
speed of CF cards are Fuji's 30fps VGA movie digital cameras, so the S2
    should work fine.
