Has the Photoshopping been overdone?

    yes, because it's rather obvious that it could only have meant elements.

    the full photoshop at $50 would at best have been a pirated copy.

    It may well be, but you are requiring people in other parts of the
    world whose pricing is not in US$ to know what the street prices of
    the various Photoshop products might be in what ever part of the world
    YOU live in. I hadn't the faintest idea of what you might have been
    sugesting and seriously considered that it might still be possible to
    buy Photoshop CS5 at price.

    You see, it's not rather obvious that it could _only_ have been
    Photoshop Elements.

    so do a currency conversion, and this isn't the first time product
    prices have been given us$, so that's a rather lame excuse.
    then you should have asked, 'did you really mean cs5 for $50? because
    that sounds unusually cheap.'
    maybe not to you but it's obvious to most people.
