You want to give away your Nikon gears to upgrade to Canon ?
I would be more than happy to accept :)

Buy a Canon, surely you jest! Make sure to fire the Canon half an hour
prior to shooting so the thing can finish booting. Admittedly it requires
less post work than the Nikon, but I can afford the 2 minutes in post, not
the 5 seconds for the shot. Nikons boot heaps faster! (almost instantly!) No
one will argue that point who has used both cameras!

I will... I have used both the EOS 1D and the Nikon D1H and there is
virtually no difference in start-up (sic booting) between the two. I think
you should specify what cameras you are talking about. (I am guessing you
are talking about the Canon S40, 45, 50 of which I have one and they are
pretty slow from lens cover open to first shot...)

    HI Cameron :) well said!

You can almost be sure the kid has not used any of these cameras or their
    film equivalent.
Drive Nikon or Canon is like driving A or B each has their flagship cameras
    and owners of each,
I think have more camera then they can ask for, well we can always ask for

    Happy shooting

I dont recall Rob as being either a kid or a misguided shooter. It makes no
sense when comparing Holden to Ford to whip out the Maserati. The general
population dont drive a Maserati to work.

  11. But it does make sense to whip out the Grange and compare it to an LTD
or whip out a HSV and compare it to a Tickford.

    The point being made is to compare a D1 to a 1D or a D100 to a 10D etc.

  12. well, i'll take a 2sec delay on startup to get better image quality, far
better long exposures, less noise, better build quality, cheaper body,
cheaper accessories, better range of cheaper IS and USM lenses, better
upgrade path to full-frame, equal or better AF, larger buffer (esp RAW),
better ergonomics (IMO), etc etc etc... there's a reason why the 10D
outsells the D100 by a massive margin, and it ain't just marketing, though
    that is a factor.

"half an hour"... heh. that's like me saying the D100 is too noisy to print
even a 4x6... gross exaggeration to the point of totally discrediting your
