    Hi there

I currently have a sony DCR-PC106e digital handycam. This camera doesnt
have rca input, which i need for attaching a wireless bullet cam and
    recording its output.

So im looking to trade the sony in and get something else. I reckon i
might be able to get 125 quid for it on ebay with a bit of luck, so im
asking for suggestions as to what to replace it with. Must be about the
same price give or take 50 quid, second hand is fine.

The camera must have RCA inputs, but i dont need any fancy functions,
just the ability to film and then edit on my pc using a firewire
connection. Id rather have a better quality image than special effects.
Must have a reasonable zoom and be able to fit a wide angle/fisheye
    filter on it.

Any suggestions would be greatfully received

    Mark

Yes, RTFGBP [1], there is at least two other thread asking more or
    less the same question...

[1] read the f*cking group before posting.

Apologies, Mark for this very rude reply from our resident sociopath, Jerry.
He makes a habit of this sort of thing. No doubt you will never frequent
this group again. So many people make reasonable enquiries here, and instead
of helpful replies, get this sort of treatment. This was once a good
    newsgroup.

    Sorry.

In reply to your question, I'm afraid I'm not up on current DV camcorders,
so can't point you at a specific model. However a quick wander round the
Sony web site shows the DCRHC96E may be what you're after- it has analogue
video in and out and Firewire in and out:

Yes it was, until ignorant idiots like your self found it along with
all your fellow trolls, if my reply does indeed make one less idiot
post to this group - good - the group might just move on from the
    Usenet version of 'Which Camcorder'...
So why bother replying then, other than to troll?...

    Neil,

Thanks for the reply. The camera you selected is a little bit out of my
price range at the moment. The reason i posted the question was because
i have spent quite a while trying to find a camera that has RCA input
for a reasonable price, ie, one thats low enough so that i can
basically swap my fully functional (except for RCA in) DCR-PC106e for a
similar camera with the required input adapters. Having not found one
easily, i posted here. Seeing as the all knowing Jerry couldnt answer
my question, i'll assume that a cheap MiniDV camera with rca in does
    not exist.

seems to have analog and DV input.....
