hi there all - thinking of buying a DV camera to be mainly used as a
deck for editing (XpressDV and Vegas). I prefer a camera to a deck...
I seen some options such as the mv600i and NV-GS50 panasonic and would
like some input from people who tried any. I dont need anything fancy
such as low-light, mega zoom and stills capture, i just want a basic
and reliable camera which will lock well to the pc software and has AV
in (and be as cheap as poss)
    any ideas?

  2. I've just got a JVC GR-D50 price matched to £396 at Jessops, I've not
really played with it too much yet but first impressions are favourable.

thanks for that - can you pleasee follow up later once you have more
experience with it? also, how did you match it (with what shop?)

  4. I did a Dealtime search which listed the on-line shops which sold it and
the price, printed it out and took it to Jessops.

They rang someone, I assume head office, to check if the cheapest option
was allowable and charged me that price, a saving of £114.

I did pop in the shop first to check if they would accept on-line prices
as the advertising blurb in the shop says they only price match within a
    certain radius.
