    Hey Folks,

I'm one of the guys who would still be happily editing with my dc1000dv if
it weren't for me getting bit with the ever so chronic audio degragation
    problem.

So I just purchased the Matrox RT.X100 Xtreme(thank you, John! It's here!).
I'm wondering about the need to do some upgrading at the same time. Here's
    my system:

    Asus P4B533 mobo w/478 socket
    845E Chipset
    P4 2.4 x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 7 GenuineIntel ~2423 Mhz

    1gig ram

    Rage Fury Pro agp 4X
    Rage128 Pro 32meg

OS Name Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
    Version 5.0.2195 Service Pack 3 Build 2195

    30 gig 7200 system drive

60 7200 currently used for sound

    RAID with 2 60gig 7200's striped for 120

So A) is that display adapter card gonna fly?

and B) what's the story on these new Maxtor and WD 120gig, 160, and 250gig
hard drives. Are they fast enough for this capture card without being
striped together? And if yes, do they remain fast enough once they are 80%
or more full? I would love to lose the RAID and just go with two of these
    drives.

And C) can you stripe two big drives with a Fastrack or Hot Pro 100? (I
remember something way back about a 120 gig limit)

Thanks for your advice in advance,

    Steve
