Hi all, hope I'm in the right group.

I have a Sony DXC-325P CCD Camera which I use it with a Sony V0-6800P
    U-Matic Portable Recorder.

For some reason the camera will now only record in black and white.

I know it's not the recorder as I have tried another camera and it plays
    back in colour as normal.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    (1) Does the camera display color when output directly to a monitor?
I'm talking about a BNC directly from the test out of the camera here.

    (2) Does the use of a different multicore cable make a difference?
Are you using the same cable with the different camera?

I'm not sure about the PAL version, but on NTSC versions of these models,
there are some switches on both the camera and on the deck labeled something
like "camera type" and "VTR type" (it's been a long time since I used 3/4"
anything). Having those switches in the wrong or position will induce this
    problem in NTSC models.

Try moving them one at a time. If you don't have a color monitor when
making these adjustments, just speak the switch positions as you rotate
through them, and when you playback the tape you'll know which one works.
