    Hi all
I'm trying to figure out how to fix my Sony Cybershot DSC S70. I
typically use it for still pictures, which I then download to my computer
via a cable connection to the computer's USB port.

After working great for several years, the camera now refuses to get out of
PC mode. (I am unable to use it to take regular pictures) I have searched
the camera manual in vain, have removed and reinserted the memory stick and
the battery, powered on and off numerous times, but it still stays stuck in
PC mode; and yet, the computer can't recognize it as a device. Is there some
magic "reset" button on the camera that I can press to reset its internal
software? Nothing else appears to be wrong ....

This happened when I got a new computer. I downloaded the Sony USB port
software onto the new computer to download latest pics; husband says that I
didn't shut the camera off from the computer before powering down the
camera and detaching the cable from the USB port. (BTW, the new computer was
never able to see the camera.) The manual doesn't mention anything about
shutting off the camera on the computer ...??? I thought that if the camera
was powered off, even if it was attached to the computer, it was off -
    safe!?

Can anyone offer any useful suggestions here? Next step is sending off to
    Sony repair shop.
    Thanks for any help!
