Help with DVD recording format requested

Discussion in 'Amateur Video Production' started by Richard Forester, Nov 24, 2003.

  1. Hello all.

I am a newbie to recording video to DVD and I have a question. I have some
720x480 MPEG-2 video I recorded from TV and was wondering if it had to be in
any specific format to put it on DVD. What settings do I need to use/should
have used so I can put it on DVD?

    As they are recorded:

    Video: 720x480 (MPEG-2), Field B
    Frame rate: 29.970 Frames/sec
    Data rate: VBR 8000kbps
Audio: 48K Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
    Bitrate: 224 kbps

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Richard

The properties below can work for DVD.

They are compliant, in other words.

You didn't mention the specific type of audio.

    Is it LPCM AUDIO?

  3. Hi Jerry.

I don't think it is LPCM. The file properties from within VideoStudio 7 are
"MPEG Audio Layer 2 Files, 48000Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo". Is that bad?

    Thanks,
    Richard
