Amature photographer hoping somebody could point me to where I may
find good info on taking still photos of jewelry, sculpture, paintings
and textiles for a web site. Need to know essential equipment and
    know how.

    TIA

    It's "amateur."

You need a camera and light. Jewelry will require some sort of macro
capability for close-focusing. Your light sources and setup will
    depend on your subject.

Know-how comes from research and experience. You're asking for a lot
of information with very little to go on. It's like walking into
rec.aviation and asking "Can someone tell me how to fly? I don't know
anything about planes." Take a moment and do some basic research, and
come back with some more specific questions.

Here are some keywords to search on:

    macro
    jewelry photo
    softbox
    diffuser box
    photo flood
    polarizer

Google is your friend. Hit us up again when you've got a grasp on
what the above are used for.
