    Hi,
I've just bought some weeks ago an hexar rf and i have two tedious
    problems with it :
    - first, when i put two new batteries in the compartment, i think i
have an electrical contact problem because i have to screw the lid
firmly to get the camera working,
    - my second problem is with the frame counter : sometimes when i want
to shut off my camera, and then reuse it, the frame counter goes back
    to frame 1.

Does anybody have these problems with this camera?

    Regards.

  2. Clean the contacts with a pencil eraser. They need to be bright and
shiny. Ditto the battery. Sometimes the inside of the lid is used
as a contact, clean it just to make sure.

See if the springs, often one at the bottom and sometimes one at the
side, have become pressed flat. If the are pry them -gently- with
a pic. I have noticed dentists are using disposable pics these days,
you may want to ask for yours back ... you did pay for it. If you
pry too much the spring may break off where it enters the black plastic
    of the battery compartment.
This could be related to the battery problem.

If cleaning out the battery compartment doesn't work, and the problem
is internal to the camera, then fixing it may be very simple or a real
    PITA.

    Thanks for your advices.
But finally i decided to bring back the camera to the shop to have it
    completely checked.
The rangefinder was also misaligned, so it was a good occasion.
But i keep all your advices just in case.
    Regards.
