How to automate MPEG2 DVD complient compression, setting chapter points, and DVD burning

  1. Hi,

first off, I'm not familiar with any DVD authoring applications. I
haven't used DVDit or Pinnacle Impressions etc etc. All I had was a
little exposure with Sonic MyDVD which sucked big time. So what I'd
like to know is how to automate DVD burning process. Say I have an
uncompressed AVI file that I captured with a simple capture card. (Or
let it be Huffyuv 2.1 compressed file). Say I captured an hour TV
program that has bunch of commercial that I want to take out. So I
guess for that I can use VirtualDub. Remove the commercials from
there and start the frame server. Now is there any type of DVD
authoring application I can use so that I can feed VirtualDub into it,
set chapter points and then with a click of a button it will both
encode to mpeg2 and burn to DVD for me. Also how can I choose the
encoder for the DVD Authoring application that *I* want? If there're
other VirtualDub ways, let me know. Thanks.
