use irfanview convert dropdown (file - Batch conversion - etc
Or if you have the image open in irfanview, File - Save as - etc

convert using these parameters - as shown on the website:
Idle images can be used on the IP-50X, IP-600 and IP-4000 models

IP430: 94 pixels wide by 23 pixels high
IP500: 112 pixels wide by 52 pixels high
IP600: 208 pixels wide by 110 pixels high
IP4000: 150 pixels wide by 33 pixels high

Files should be saved as BMP format: Windows, 4BPP (or 16 color),
Uncompressed (No RLE). The IP500 and IP600 phones support 4 shades of
gray and the IP4000 and IP430 supports only Black and White images,
however for consistency you should still save the files as 4BPP/16
    color.
