how to edit a dvd written on sony mini dvd camcorder

Discussion in 'Amateur Video Production' started by technaphot S.A., Aug 18, 2006.

  1. Hello U all,

I bought a small miniDVD sony camcorder. Results are excellent. But, on this
model, there is no USB or Firewire interface.

I failed to import VOB files with windows movie maker which doens't
recognize VOB files. I tried with some video converters like POWER VIDEO
    CONVERTER, without success.

Is there somebody who could help me?

    Best regards.

Be advised that DVDs were designed as a final master, not as something to be
edited later, so your quality may suffer, depending on yor choice of
    programs.
Programs like Womble and VideoRedo will allow basic (cuts only) editing
    without affecting the final quality.
If you want something with more options, look into a program like Vegas
Movie Studio+DVD from Sony. $90 US online. It's designed to import these
discs to allow editing but the final quality will drop somewhat.

Not unless you go to Sony's website and look for it.
