How to get rid of the "no tape" indicator on Sony TRV-85

  1. Here is what I want to do. I have an old TRV85 that I want to use as
a camera in my home studio. I have run an Svideo cable from the
camera to my vid capture card. What I want to do is to record video
directly to the PC along with the audio. (I will be getting the audio
feed via my soundboard). I have the camera aimed at my desk area and
am going to use it for narration and commentary in my video projects.

Here is the problem. When I am using the camera this way, the stupid
"no tape" indicator flashes in the middle of my video. I haven't
found a way to get rid of it. I never had this problem with an even
older Sony that died on me. I was able to use it in the fashion that
I desribed. Along with the "no tape" indicator flashing constantly,
the camera shuts off after a few minutes.

So what I am wondering, is there a work around for this so I can use
the camera for this purpose. The video via the Svideo cable is superb
and I hope that I can get rid of that annoying icon flashing in the
    middle of my screen.
