How to record DVD-RAM to be played on the DMRE-20?

    I have a Matsushita DVD-RAM LF-D311 burner installed in a Pentium-4 /
3.00GHZPC, running Windows-XP Professional that I build to use in my
entertainment room, and I'd like to find the way to burn video files on to
DVD-RAM disks, that later can be played on to my stand-alone Panasonic
    DMR-T2020 (similar to DMRE-20).

I'm already burning DVD-R discs using Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Encore,DVD
Architect, and Vegas 4.0, and I'd like to learn how to do it with DVD-RAM
compatible with the DMRE-20, so I can play some video programs I capture
with my PC, family picture slide shows, etc.

I'll appreciate any help regarding this matter.

    Thanks in advance,
    Paul

Not sure about the E-20 but on my E30 or E100 it can't be done, they expect
-RAM to contain media with the -VR format not -video. I use -RW from my PC
to do this with my LG 4040B burner, the Panny E30 and E100 plays -RW back
no problmes, this is normally to test before archiving to -R. As an aside,
normal Panny players (not recorders) CAN playback -video material on -RAM,
it's just the recorders that can't.

I have no idea how to author in -VR mode.

Thanks for your help Trevor S.

I can't believe nobody seems to be interested to include DVD-RAM

as an option when working with video on the computer; the format

offers the best transfer rate when compared to all other rewritable

formats out there. Perhaps this is because not even Panasonic shows

    any enthusiasm about this.

    I just purchased a $99 Emprex DVD Dual 4x DVD-R / DVD+R /

DVD+RW / CD-R and CD-RW internal drive, and so far it works

fine. I was able to burn some high quality Videos and Picture Slideshow

on to a DVD+RW disk, and it plays beautifully on most of the video players

I tried, but not on the DMR-T2020.

Does anybody know if there are otherDVD formats compatible with the

DMR-T2020? What about firmware updates, are they available?

BTW: In a few hours I'm leaving to Las Vegas to attend CES

so I'm going to investigate about DVD-RAM authoring software

and others, and I'll let you know.

    Thanks again, and regards,

    Paul.

Oh, I am interested ! maybe we should start an email campaign to TMNPGEnc
to get them to add that to DVD-Author :)
