Of all the stupid program features of cameras, including "party, miniature, night portrait, " etc. why hasn't some camera manufacturer included a really useful one for both amateur and professional photographers.
A "hyperfocal distance" program, or just called "Hyperfocal" on the dial, would determine the focus distance based on the aperture being used and instantly fix focus on the hyperfocal distance calculated from the lens' focal length and aperture, to give maximum depth-of-field sharpness from infinity to as close as possible. This would be useful for street shooting and other applications where the camera would have difficulty making instant focus decisions optically.
