I had a very weired problem playing back a captured AVI file.

  1. I have RAID onboard. I set it up as striping and use the RAID array to
capture video from a TV capture card card. Hard drives are 7200rpm,
60GB. In order not to overheat my HDs, I placed all of them in SNT-102ATA enclosure
    (http://www.sntusa.com/.sc/ms/dd/1073332836838443/9/nc/ee/12/IDE Mobile Rack - 1022ATA133).

Capture was fine. But then when I played back, it gave me I/O error on my RAID
drive after like 1 or 2 seconds of playing. Trying to figure out what the
problem was, I took out my HDs from enclosures one by one. It started to play
smoothly. Taking out even one HD out of enclosure wasn't giving any I/O error.

Then I updated my motherboard BIOS, and the problem disappeared. It's still very
weird 'cause the enclosure is supposedly pass through signal and nothing more.
I still have no clue why it would write flawlessly, but wouldn't allow to read.
