I have a small web development company and I am in need of a freelance
designer. I would prefer somone local (need to meet clients sometimes),
but not totally required. No programming experience required. I do
    that.

Please go to www.sydcon.com and fill out the contact us page with your
rates, availability and links to your work if you are interested.

    Thanks

  2. I am not in your area so cannot be considered local.

You could visit wizbids.com, and post your requirements there.

Good luck, there are plenty of good people out there.

sorry this is not spam. If it was posted in the incorrect forum, I
You can try a freelance portal like www.nerdlance.com or

Actually, this is a likely NG for your needs, and unlike most "work for free"
posts, you do offer $, or whatever monetary unit is in use. While you might
not get nibbles here, it's populated by designers, and others, who might be
    able to help you.

Looking at your original post, I'd say you did about everything right. Don't
worry about any negative comments, and good luck.
