    Hi all,

I need some advice here as I have wasted quite a bit of time so far
trying to get what I want! What I need is a fast way to create an index
print with the associated filenames under each image.

Something like 64 images on a sheet of A4, with the filename under each
image, the full path to the images contents (I organise my photos by
folder and so would like to do this a folder at a time) in the footnote
on the page and possibly a title.

I have tried Fotoslate2 but I have found no way of automating the
process of text addition and when setting up a template you cannot
simply say that you want the filename shown (unless I'm missing a
trick!). I have also had a go in PSP8 - but no joy there with the
captions and again, it seems I have to drag each image one at a time.

Does anybody know of an easy way of doing this? What other software
    should I try?

    Many thanks

there is an option in Windows XP when printing from the "mt pictures"
directory or any sub folder for printing a thumbnail contact sheet witht the
file name below it prints 35 thumbnails per A4 sheet

Not sure if this info is any use at all

Hi AJ, thanks for this - I did not know that XP had this kind of ability
to be honest and have just given it a go - not bad, not bad (for free -
sort of!) but not very flexible. I need something that can do a bit
    more.

    Cheers for the help.

I use CompuPic's Photo Index feature for this. Does a nice job. See
    www.photodex.com.

Try Thumbs Plus The Catalogue will print just about any information you want
from the Data for each image. But 64 thumbs per page plus File names ect is
expecting a bit much. the text has to fit to the thumbs width .
