Is Digital Betacam 8-bit or 10-bit?

    See subject... I know the SDI protocol is always 10-bit. But I need to
    know if Digital Betacam really reproduces 10-bit video without
    quantizing it to 8 bits.

    If set up that way, it records and reproduces the full 10 bits.

    Note that it can also be set up to do 8 bits, so if you want 10 bit
    performance, ensure it's set up that way.
