Is it possible to use a .mkv file in an avisynth script?

    Is it possible to use a .mkv file in an avisynth script? I can play the
    files only in VLC Media Player and can't recode them with anything. If
    there's some way to use one in an avisynth I'd be able to recode using
    virtual dub.
