    Hey,

I got a Panasonic Lumix TZ7 for my birthday but my question is
about the video part. Is the HD 1280 x 720 really high definition ?
Because I can not see any difference between 848 x 480 and the
HD resolution 1280 x 720 I took of a HD test chart I printed and
    filmed in both resolutions.

Thank you for your help/answer !
    Bye, Jord

Here in Australia, HD video is 1920 x 1080.

Hey, thanks for your answer !,

    HD TV can have 3 or 4 resolutions: 1280 x 720p, 1440 x 1080i and
1920 x 1080i *(homecams can have also p) most source is still
SD 768 x 576 and providers upscale it to 1280 like National -
Geographic 1280 and the provider can upscale it to 1920.

    Bye, Jord

  4. Printing screencaptures of video you took from a test chart is not
going to help much, specially if both prints are the same size. The
best way to compare resolution for video is basically by taking
screenshots and display them side by side at 1:1 of their size on a
    computer monitor.
In video, HD or SD is mostly about pixels. Anything less than 1280
pixels width = Standard definition. Anything equal or higher than that
    is considered HD.
