Is the Canon DR-2080C a good document scanner?

I am considering replacing the HP scanjet 5550c with a "budget" document
scanner for Windows 2000 OS. The HP do a good job on photo scanning, but the
TWAIN interface is quite third party application unfriendly, especially with
the ADF scanning, it insisted to scan everything in 200 dpi photo mode which
render it too slow to for document scanning. The third party application I
am using for filing is PaperPort 9 and PhotoImpect 8.

After many search on the web, the Canon DR-2080C comes closest to what I
need. Any true live review on this scanner is welcome.

    TIA.

    Mick,

You might want to check out the Fujitsu fi-4120 as well. It is just slightly
bigger then the Canon, but it has both a SCSI and a USB 2.0 connections. In
addition, if you need to scan 11x17 documents and don't need a flatbed the
Fujitsu fi-4530 is a big brother to the fi-4120.

There is also the Visioneer XP-450 but I don't have as much experience with
that as I do the Fujitsu scanners.

    Good luck.
