  1. Hello,
I want to categorize thousends of digital pictures with title, keywords,
photografer etc. A lot of program have that function, but is there a
standard so that i don't need to start all over when changing album-program?

  2. Good question - very good question - if you get an
answer I also want to know.

Unfortunately I guess no. There are lots of programs
that do this. But I guess they are all propriarety.

One standard is HTML of course. It is not the best one
for this purpose, but it is a standard and it does
    what it does quite well.

  3. album-program?

The IPTC header information fields are used for that purpose, but the way
the image is categorized is a function of the software parsing those fields,
and how the user fills in the available fields.
