Is there a utility to fix mpeg2 time code errors?

Attempting to turn an mpg file into a DVD with DVDStyler, I get the
    STAT: VOBU 8224 at 3735MB, 1 PGCS
ERR: SCR moves backwards, remultiplex input.
Error executing of command: dvdauthor -o 'D:\\dvd\' -x

Is there a utility which will fix this error in the original mpg? I've
found a fair number of references to this error on the web, and usually
it is blamed on faulty splicing of mpgs. Will remultiplexing this (say
in TMPGenc) actually fix the error?

  2. Can't guarantee it'll do what you want, but you could tream Restream.

I've used it for correcting field dominance in an MPEG without having
to decode/recode, it just goes through and changes the field flags. It
mentions that it can correct GOP timecode problems. Give it a go.

VideoRedoPlus might also handle this, but I'm not sure. Ask on their

Thanks, Steve. The solution (this time only!) turned out to be even
simpler. I downloaded ReStream, which requires de-muxed video and
audio streams. So I de-muxed in preparation to use ReStream on the
video portion, except that I forgot to run ReStream on the video
portion! Fed the .m2v and .ac3 streams into DVDStyler, and whatever it
uses for a re-muxer got rid of the problem.

So, sorry all for the disturbance, but if it works for other mpg
files, this is a neat solution to a common problem.

Totally OT, I remember watching Dr. Who's adventure with Marco Polo
(there were others, but Marco Polo is the one I remember) on CBC TV
after coming home after school in the mid 1960s. "Before the doctor
became fashionable." Other shows in a similar time slot on CBC were
Razzle Dazzle, Ten Town, Thierry La Fronde....
