Actually one of your better compositions I think. Seriously, look at
the different reactions from the subjects. I really like it. Sorry it
took you 57 minutes, 33 seconds to scan it!

  3. Agreed, definitely one of his best
(& no lens cap eating episode this time...)

Reminds me of why I went digital. The greens are crap.

That's funny. I always thought digital's biggest weakness was in the
greens. They always look too "yellowish" to me.

This pic was taken with Fuji Astia, which gives a very neutral image.
A film like Velvia which bumps up the greens a bit might be more to
    your liking.

To me, a perfect camera system would just capture what it sees without
changing anything. Then it is up to me to convert that neutral image
into what I want it to look like. So the finished photograph isn't so
much what the scene really looked like, but instead is the artist's
interpretation of what he was feeling when he viewed the scene. This
may explain why I usually stay away from B&W. I don't see in B&W and I
don't want to see in B&W.
A world without color would be a bit too "Republican" for me.

  7. So the finished photograph isn't so

Again, photography is an art. It is totally up to the artist. Personally, I
find I see details better in B&W. I find that the mind gets distracted
trying to "look around colors" and potentially misses some interesting
details that are easier seen in B&W. I shoot as much of not more B&W than I
    do color slide film.

"Republican"? I think that reducing photography to politics is a low blow.

To me greens come out looking almost white in places when photographed
    with the 20D.

Sniping again are we, Clara? Dollar to a doughnut you have more
shitty-livered put-down posts on this group than just about anyone
else. Thin-skinned Clara can't stand anybody who likes digital
    photography. Luddite.

Oh sure, you say that NOW!
Not too many people today want to admit they voted for that dumbass in
Having said that, I do believe Bush deserves a fair trial.

So I am not too keen on republicans, but WTF has that got to do with

Other then telling you the truth as he sees it regarding film just what
had Colin done that is so bad?

Colin seem pretty polite in his posting and gave one of the better
responses to a question regarding what speed to shoot Tri-X 400 film at
in a recent thread. This is clearly someone who has shot film and
    knows film.

If you really don't like sharing ideas with people who might disagree
with you then the news groups is probably not the best place for you to
be. I have disagreed with a lot of people on the news groups and they
with me, but I try not to resort to name calling.

Well, he might be a namesake of mine, but he isn't me. I am not
American, I have never been to America, and I haven't made any secret of
where I'm from in these ng's.

Which just goes to show what a totally clueless asswipe you are, Clara.

And you can shove your regards up your ass, you sidewinding little shit.

  17. Trial? -- TRIAL!!?? - For what? First you guys falsely accuse him of lying
and cheating, and now you are talking about his trial......
You talk a good game....But that's all it is. Just talk. You can't get
Bush thrown out of office with talk. (Thank God) In this country, we still
have to prove some guilt beyond a reasonable doubt before we can punish
someone, even if he is a president.

That R., he will some day be excellent, but he still has to do two
things: (1) be successful for some elective office, (2) find out which
group he will eventially be in the pocket of.
