I bought the Kodak DX 6440

I am very impressed as value for money, an off the shelf easy to use camera
    with quality images.

The images are good, reasonably sharp and saturated, and it is easy to use,
great in low light, the flash is great - strong but well controlled for
close up. The movie mode works in a clunky sort of way, the burst mode is
    better.

I still have the option to exchange (return it and pay more) it for a higher
model camera, one with more manual controls, eg control of jpeg compression
to lessen the sharpening, and ability to store scene settings. The trade off
is much higher price and not as easy to use.

Has anyone tried the Kodak dx6440 and say the Canon s45 or s50 or the
Olympus c5050z (looks good the last one but a lot more money).
