Kodak DX7590 firmware...

Discussion in 'Kodak' started by pIxEL8eD_nITs, Dec 11, 2004.

  1. Does anybody know how to edit the JPEG Quantization Table in the
    firmware of the DX7590?
What is the program used to extract the firmware?

    Thanks for any help.

Good luck. I don't think it is available nor will ever be available.

    Greetings Pixel,

There isn't one, unless you are at Kodak. The idea there is to improve
things through feedback and information. I am glad to take your thoughts
back to the concept and implementation teams. I also have the ears and eyes
of the Software management team. So, if you want to share your interest and
need I will make it a point to get that to the right people.

    Talk to you soon.

  4. Hi Ron, thanks for the reply.

Just because I can't find a program to extract the firmware and have a
peek in my hex editor doesn't mean such a program doesn't exist. I must
emphasize that I truly enjoy my DX7590 very much.Being an electronics
technician, it is in my nature to be curious and try to analyze
technical features of various electronic products. I enjoy very much
taking things apart and exploring, not to the extent of destroying but
rather to understand how things work. Being a missile guidance and
target acquisitions specialist, I can do enough destruction at work in
    real life!

Would you please recommend which macro lenses are compatible with my
camera. (Kodak or other brand, if possible...)I already have the 0.7
    Wide Angle and adapter ring.
    Can I use any 55mm?

    Hi Pixel,

Glad to know you are enjoying the camera, it is a great model and I have as
well. If you want to compare notes on anything, let me know.

I understand your inquisitive nature, Pixel, I am the same way. If I had
reference or access to more, I would gladly share it with you. I have found
that yes, you can use any filters or other, in the same way you could with a
film camera. They are changing the light energy before reaching the CCD as
you would with film. So, if you can find 55mm accessories they should be OK
to use. Kodak offers a BW Polarizer and a BW Neutral Density Filter. Both
can be found on our website. Of course, as noted, you can use any other
filters of the related adapter size.

Glad to help, Pixel, and I am here for you if you need me. Enjoy!
