Here at work trying to see if the kodak software works with the Sony cam
(have NT4 and software will not install) have a great deal lined up on a
new sony ($299) but would like to continue to use my easyshare. Anyone know
if it is easy enough. currently have a docking kodak which is effortless.

    thanks

  2. NT4 is a problem since there isn't really any USB support so the software
won't install since we count on USB mass storage device classs and/or PTP as
a transport mechanism (both of which are based on USB)

If you upgrade the OS to something else and get the drivers for the camera
installed from the Sony disc that comes with it the software will likely
support automatic transfer, etc. (that is if the Sony presents the camera
as a disk of some kind to the OS)

I meant I was NT4 here at work and couldn't try it. I have XP at home but
    no Sony (yet)

  4. With Windows XP, EasyShare will use the built-in WIA path from any camera
that provides a WIA compatible driver. No problem.

When you plug the camera in the first time, the Microsoft dialog will pop up
with a list of applications that can be used with the camera. Click
EasyShare (and do this all the time if you want that behavior) and then move
    on.

The only thing that may not work right is the "remove images from device"
after transfer since some devices don't support that function.

    enjoy
