I would appreciate any comments, good or bad on the Kodak Z740 digital
    camera.
Thinking of buying one from Amazon.

You might look at the Z7590 or P850 instead. Amazon's prices are $279
    for the Z740, $308 for the Z7590 and $379 for the P850. The Z7590 has a
considerably better lens than the Z740. The P850 adds image
stabilization which is extrememly benificial to maintain focus in low
light or shaky hands. Also the P850 has a hot shoe for external flash
    add on.

I got my P850 at Costco on sale for $379 including docking station and
carry bag. Currently they have the higher end P880 (8mp) on sale for $399.

Thanks miles, I should have said I am in the Uk.
These two models are a lot more expensive than the Z740 and also a bit
    bigger in size.
Amazon have it in stock at just £148 and wondered if anyone had used one and
    what the results were like.
    Kind regards.

    Hey Vic,

The Z740 is a good model and I would highly recommend it. Some of the
features it offers are A new high-speed digital processor chip, advanced
algorithms, and hardware acceleration are just a few of the features can
use to produce great colors in almost any lighting situation. Those that
I have seen the brief time I used yielded great shots. You won't be
disappointed. I like external flash, however, so I would move up a click
to the Z7590 for another 40-50 bucks You get extra features and also
external flash to expand the flash range. Anyway good luck with whatever
you decide to do. I am here if you have any particular questions.

Keep in mind that it is always a good idea to visit local stores to see
if the camera feels right to you. Do you like the way the menu operates,
how is it cosmetically? Of course, does it meet your budget. You should
always consider these for any model or camera.

    Talk to you soon, Vic,

    Thanks for that info Ron.
I just read the reports on the new Z650 and like what I read. So much so
that I have ordered one today.
I think it is in the same body as the Z740 but it has a bigger screen and
what sounds like a better lens.
Looking forward to its arrival. Can't wait to try it out.
    Kind regards.
