I blame Alan Browne. From the minute he obtained a $200 rebate on the
Konica Minolta 7D DSLR he had bought before the company started to
offer the rebate, their days were numbered.

Clearly Browne's $200 was the death blow from which Konica Minolta
    Canada could never recover.

Sad to see KM has no plans to sell to Canada, even via KM USA. So pretty
much turning their backs on Canada. They say maybe they'll sell via the web.
    Another story is on dpreview.

The trouble is if KM Canada goes away the dealers won't have any shelf
protection. That means they are locked in with the final pricing. Shelf
protection means the dealer gets a rebate that allows a price drop. A 7D new
sells for about $200 less than a week ago. I don't know if 5Ds will ship or
if when they do will stores get stuck with them.
