Image is obviously everything to the newly merged Konica Minolta corp.
THey've just announced a new logo. It is essentially the old Minolta logo
with the word "Konica" added. THey claim to have changed the colour of their
AT&T clone graphic to "inovation blue". All this would simply be funny save
for the fact that some designer probably got a few hundred thousand for
coming up with a name for the colour (Remember ABCs million dollar new
colour a few years back -- it was yellow) which makes it hysterical.
For those who really want to see the new logo it is located in the same
place where Nikon's new logo was featured a few weeks ago. As a student of
graphic design I can tell you that large corporations are spending big bucks
on designers who's main talent is a gift for selling tube steak as fillet
mignon du chien - at $74.50 a pound.

OK, I can agree in principle with your comments. But retaining the Minolta
graphic has some logic since Minolta is probably the better know company.
    Otherwise, I see your point.

None of this matters to this group. What matters is what they do with
the SLR line and if they come through with a Maxxum DSLR.

    Cheers,
    Alan.

    PS: Where ya been lately?

True, and if they don't the logo will change from five lines to five holes
and they could make a killing with Bowling Balls..........

They should have simply renamed the company : Minoltica.

So a different multinational corp of idiots is the copy artist -- I'm
thrilled to have this bit of non-information. Perhaps it is a sign of how
well the Minolta symbol went over that no one noticed it before AT&T used
it. Adding the word "Konica" will probably go over just as big. That's what
I like about Canon -- they spend their time coming up with innovative
products instead of names like "innovation blue".

Or better yet, for those who want to get along better, how 'bout "HarMonica" -
its not only peaceful, its musical too... "Minolta Kinolta the magical fruit,
the more you HarMonica, the more you toot!" ;-)
