The question of the day: I'm new to Perth and photography and am looking for
a lab that is 'tender' on both the newbie and on prices, yet prints in
quality (not necessarily quantity). I'm interested in having slides and
black and white developed too. It seems most of the local places are the
bulk grocery store type developers and charge an arm and a leg for
personalized type service. Any suggestions short of building my own dark

Is it advisable to mail order instead?

Why don't ask this question in "", you will get many more useful

My only direct answer is to try Camera House in Cannington or some of the
    pro labs around
town or Subiaco, such as Churchill.

Sorry I don't know anything about darkroom.

  3. If you're after slides or B&W, then give Halse a try - they're very

Otherwise, C41 (colour) can be done practically anywhere. Personally
I'd use a lab which uses a Frontier machine, as (personally) I love
the look of the final prints. Most of the better labs have those now,
so you'll find most in the city do.

  4. Plenty of places can do a decent job of C41.
E6 and BW is a bit harder to find. Halse may still do them, Churchill,
Copychrome(? in Leederville, just past Northwood St) and Custom

Custom Colour will hit you $16 for a 36 E6, mounted. $9 dev only. No
prices for B&W dev, so it may be down to Halse and get Waltered :)

There used to be a place near the Leederville pub for B&W, but the
name has been eaten by a Grue.

  5. You could try Mirage as well, in Hay Street Subiaco. Slightly lower prices
    than most others.
