Leica lens F stops

    I have a Leica Fii red dial.. The lens is a sumicron 50 m..But the f stops go like this 2 , 2.3 , 3.9 etc.. I cant translate that into the normal F stop numbers...2, 2.8, 4.0 etc..Can anyone help?
