In February I decided to buy my wife a Sigma 28-300mm
f3.5-6.3 DG Macro Lens, and depending on how it compared
with my current 70-300mm with a view to buying a another
so I don't have to keep changing lenses all day.

However, the price has been increased from £179.99 to £249.99
The new price only seems to have be on Canon fit and Nikon fit,
Sigma fit are still priced at £179.99

    Talk about screwing the customer.

You may find that the higher priced lens is a new version with an HSM
motor. This is a requirement for use with low-end Nikon DSLRs that
don't have the "screwdriver drive" in-body AF motor.
