I'm having trouble tracking this down, so would appreciate some advice. I
am seeking a fairly low cost ($100 or less), HD (prefer 1080p but will try
720p) videocam offering macro focus down to 2" or so and it needs to have
manual focus. Fixed focus is ok, but only if it goes down to and shows 2"
clearly. What cameras in this category are available and where can I find
    them?

    Thanks in advance,
    John

  2. Most of the HD video capable stills cameras will do that, as well as the
consumer level HD camcorders, but you will probably need to increase
your budget by couple of hundred bucks. A hundred will only get you SD
video, unless you're willing to work out how to add a macro lens to one
of the Flip HD pocket cams or similar, and even those are over the hundred.

If a webcam type setup is OK, recording direct to a computer HD, then
this may suit, at about a hundred bucks, apart from being autofocus
only:- Logitech Quickcam Sphere AF Web camera (960x720 video at 30fps,
allegedly.) It'll still need an extra closeup lens, though.

What are you trying to do?

I'll tell you if you find me a new car that'll seat four adults, get better
than 50mpg, do at least 110mph, and costs less than $2,000.
    ;-)
