Anyone here got the new Panasonic DMC FZ-20 digital yet? I have read a heap
of good reviews and so placed an order for one, just want to hear feedback
from anyone who has already got one.

Mine should arrive tomorrow (in Hobart). I've also got a Raynox adapter on
its way and i'm looking at getting a TCON-17 tele lens, WCON-07 wide angle
    lens and macro lenses.

    cheers

I have had mine for about a month now. Still getting used to it. Although
I bought an extra rechargeable battery, this may not be necessary as the
    recharge time is pretty quick.
Also, you will need a bigger SD card than what comes with the camera. 16meg
    does not cut it.

I got my WCON-07 from Hong Kong for my FZ-2 ,
nice wide angle lens, and I paid A$90 for that.

I see a lot of cheap SD cards on eBay etc, but how do I know which ones are
    good (or fast)?

Sandisk Ultra 2's should be fast enough and they are pretty cheap lately.
You will be able to get a 512MB one for under $100.

  7. I heard good "reviews" or should I say vews BUY it has no wide angle
capabiities on the lens. There some that start with 28 mm @ 35 mm
equivalents but not this one. There is the canon pro 1 which is more
expensive (8 mehap) - but then I hear some problems with it regarding
    aurofocus.
I would also like to hear opioins about the lumix and how it comares to the
    various 8 megapixels.

No ultrazoom camera has a lens with a 35mm equivalent focal length of
    less than 35mm. The FZ20 has 36-432mm, while the FZ10 has 35-420mm.

Any camera with less than about 40mm would be considered wide angle,
the FZ10 & FZ20 have more wide angle than most other ultrazooms.
    e.g. Olympus C770 has a 38-380mm.

I have an FZ10 and it great.

    I do not think so.
I think that the canon pro 1 has azoom from 28-200 (35mm equiv) and there
are others - I think the minolta/konika has a similar lens.

I don't know if I'd class a 7x zoom as an ultra zoom camera. This is
usually reserved for cameras with 10x zoom or more.... I suppose it's
a fine point. I also have an older 8x zoom camera, which I don't call
    an ultrazoom.

I tend to call the 5x-7x zoom with 28mm equivalent wide as being wide
    angle extended zooms.
