I would imagine so. I saw pictures of the fire and the sign on the building
read "B&H Shipping & Receiving". I would think that would probably put a
severe kink in their business for a few weeks.

Go the the WABC website and look at the pictures. The burning building's
signs say both 'B&H Shipping & Receiving' and 'L&S Electronics' (which I
believe B&H owns). There's more than water damage, it's burnt to the
ground. It burned like only a steel Butler building with a cuppla
thousand tons of plastic, aluminum and cardboard in it can.

    don't laugh...

Gasser's in San Fran had a fire, big sale followed after, I got a couple
good deals, smoke did cover the items and that 110mm mamiya lens did have a
    slight color shift.

but I also got totally ripped off when I bought two Norman power packs for a
$100 each that had been soaked or underwater. Norman said that they were
total losses, they would not even try to work on them, the water had soaked
    through into the capacitors even.

WABC's is gone already. WNBC has footage but because of the sleazy deal
between NBC and Microsoft, the links won't work for Firefox and probably
Opera as well. You have to use the cursed IE. Here's the link:
<http://www.wnbc.com/feedroomvideo/index.html> . The story is 'Fire Rips
Through Navy Yard'. This footage only shows the sign for about two
    seconds.

Ummm, dude, the design of WNBC's site has absolutely nothing to do with
MSNBC. I know, I helped run the websites of NBC's owned and operated TV
stations back before they were outsourced to IBS. You can see at the top of
every page "Part of The IBS Network" and IBS has nothing to do with MSNBC.
The only thing they really do with MSNBC is link to them for national
    stories.

  8. B&H has been posting in the dpreveiw forums and they claim that it was an
adjacent building and not their warehouse that burned, only water damage was
    sustained in their warehouse.

Well, I didn't know about this, but have several items on order from
B&H, probably arrive today or tomorrow. I'll let you know if
anything interesting is in the box. :)
