Mega pixel resolution vs. Overall quality

Discussion in 'Photography Chat' started by chuckwagon524, Dec 8, 2008.

  1. I have read on Kenrockwell's site that mega pixel is not the end all be all. That a 6mp camera will enlarge an 8x10 photo just as good as a 10mp camera will. And that overall tone, sharpeness, and quality of the optics is actually more important. Citing megapixels as more marketing ploy. Is this true?
