  1. I'd be interested in your comments if you have been using the new Minolta

I really like mine. My last camera was a Canon S40. Liked the pictures,
and portability, but I didn't like the limited lens and inability to use an
external flash. We had a Maxxim (sp?) 7i 35mm that we used for shots
    requiring those features.

Chose the A1 because of the 28-200 lens, nicer battery than the 7 and 7Hi,
and I bought the 3600D flash at the same time.

I didn't buy a DSLR because I didn't want the extra bulk and extra lenses.
I still like the all in one concept.

The biggest complaint about the A1 on the forums has been image noise at
higher ISO in low light. I havne't found that to be a big problem
    personally.

    Hello Bernard Saper,
No problems at this side of the pond either. Moved up from an Olympus
C-2100 US and do not even miss the 10x optical zoom (only 7x on the
Minolta) as the 5 Mb images compensate for this.

So many extra features and extended battery life make it a joy to work
    with.
