Minolta, Lots of new P&S's, no SLR mentioned.

    I may not be up on all of the latest news, but I have been reading on
    dpreview about the new Minolta P&S cameras (the A1, Z1, G500, and E323).
    It seems that Minolta has next to no interest in offering a DSLR, at least
    not any time soon.
    Not that I would be that interested in owning a DSLR from them, but it would
    be nice to see some more competition in that field.
    Even pentax has a DSLR launching.

    Probably not the sort of thing they want to get into right now, given
    their problems and their merger/takeover with Konica. Bad timing, 'cos I
    think they've missed the boat for ever. Any Minolta users desperate to
    shoot dSLR will have long since jumped ship by the time they get around
    to it, and will have invested substantially in Nikon or Canon glass.

    I just did too, they (minolta) are keeping their SLR owners dangling on a
    fishing line, no announcements about what they intend to do regarding a
    DSLR, keeping the existing mount etc. I was not going to be dangled any
