Minor problem with Firewire capture

    Hi,

I have recently bought a Panasonic NV-GS11 Digital Camcorder and have
noticed that when playing back into my PC over Firewire, I get some popping
noises if there is a gap on the tape between recorded scenes. I do not get
this problem if I play the tape over the same Firewire using a neighbour's
    camcorder (an earlier Panasonic model).

Is this fairly normal, or is it likely that I can eliminate the problem?
    Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I more or less assumed it was just down to different
handling as you say. The gaps I am talking about are blank tape, as I am
still really only getting used to the camera. I would certainly edit out
the gaps, but just wondered if there could perhaps be, for example, an
updated driver which may address the problem.

Within the next few days I shall start doing some more realistic tests,
including some editing and DVD authoring, so then I'll know if the pops are
going to cause me any real trouble!
