Is there an exact silver oxide replacement, size-wise, for the mercury
battery mr-9? I have a luna-pro(50's) that uses this battery. I know about
the wein cell but since their life in use is not that great, I wanted to use
the silver oxide or lithium battery. I found instructions that show you how
to adjust your luna-pro for higher voltage silver oxides. Any help will be
    greatly appreciated

Thanks Colyn! I took the batteries out of my Luna-Pro and low and behold
they were wein cells, with an adapter. These were in the lightmeter when i
bought about 5 years ago, and I know they lasted for at least a year. So my
problem is solved! I guess I could take the adapters off the batteries and
find an eqilent( in size) of a SO battery and ajust the light meter. probley
wouldn't be much difference in price tho and more trouble. Thanks again to
    both of you!

If you have Wein cells, you can prise the depleted zinc-air cells out
of the metal rings that convert them to PX625 form factor, and replace
the 675 size cells cells that Wein use with cheap zinc-air "hearing
aid" cells. That way, no adjustment is necessary and you get new
"Wein" cells for a fraction of the cost.

  4. Years ago, one of the many 1.35V mercury batteries was designated "MR9". I
sell the MR9 adapter which uses a 1.55v silver oxide battery (MS76, SR44,
    G13, 357, etc) to create a 1.35v power source.

At $29.95 each the battery adapters are not cost effective for me. I would
have to buy two of them, thats $60! The wein cells are less than $4.00 each
