Is a multi-camera shoot using firewire possible?

  3. Are you asking about using Firewire to connect the cameras to
a live switcher? Or are you asking about recording independently
    ("iso") multiple cameras via Firewire?

Good point. This tool lets you record multiple cameras at the same time.
Then you just drop those file on the timeline in Final Cut, and use the
multicam feature to do the switching. The author is considering an option
to do the switching live to a single stream, and I have suggested an
option to record multiple cameras and put out a Final Cut project to
go with the files. That way you have your hot switch, but everything is
still available for tweaking. He hasn't responded to that one yet :)

I n the spirit of that second option, here is an option to take in 2 HDMI
sources and hot switch them. http://decklink.com/products/intensity/on-air/
