Ah, yes. The (not so) good old days :-(
Almost as bad as lugging a 3-chipper and a 3/4" deck around.

There goes the weekend :) Thanks for the link.

  3. I don't know about you, but, personally, I'm more worried about that poor,
shrinking woman than the guys who had to lift the camera onto its pedestal.

You would hate to see that thing fall over onto her :-(

  5. You forgot to mention that it took nearly two hours to line up the beast,
known affectionally (?) here in the UK as "The Coffin". A co-operative
effort between both the racks engineer and the cameraman with his two panels
of buttons, knobs and switches either side of the back end, not to mention
the final skin-tone line up on a peaches-and-cream model but...hey...that
was the good part, lots of time to flirt with her and all in glorious

I have no experience, but I want to break into the business of professional
video, and I'm afraid a VX-2000 will be too heavy. Could you slap me up-side
    the head? ;)

That's the vintage of the original "Blue Banana" shaggy-dog story.

I once had to terminate one of those TV-81 cables (named for
81 conductors). I got everything dressed and soldered really
nice and then realized that I forgot to put the connector shell
on before starting to solder. Boy was I unhappy, but I never
    made that mistake again!

  9. Considering where the lens is pointing and the expression on his
face... What the heck kind of video are they shooting? :)
