MyDVD runs Windows Installer everytime

I just moved into the future and purchased an Adaptec VideOh! PCI card
that comes with MyDVD and Sonic Showbiz.

Everything appeared to install fine and the card now shows up under My
Computer as "working properly." But, EVERY time I start MyDVD it
fires of Windows Installer which then says it can't find
    HpSdpAppCoreApp.msi in C:\windows\temp\hpware_pre_na_non_3.2.11 (a
directory that exists, but is empty).

If I press cancel nine or ten times, I get into MyDVD and can capture
from the card. But, Showtime says the card is there but "not able to
connect." Windows MovieMaker 2 just says there is no card.

    I have a Compaq Presario S4300NX (P4, 2.4ghz) with 1GIG RAM and 120GIG
hard drive. I uninstalled everything and tried again; same issue.
The software is MyDVD v4.0.2 Build 62226.

I'd appreciate any help. I checked both the Adaptec and Sonic sites
and can't seem to find anything that will help.
