Someone told me Nikon wasn't selling the N80 bodies to Fuji any more
because the Fuji S2 was outselling the D100.

    Any truth to that?

  2. Who knows?

The more S2s Fuji sells, the more N80 bodies Nikon sells, and the more Nikon
lenses they sell as well. My suspicion is that Nikon generates more revenue
from lens sales than from camera body sales, particularly from sales of the
upper level bodies such as the N80. To take Fuji out of the picture would
appear to cut into Nikon lens sales.

Who was "Someone"? What is that persons status at Nikon?

True story. You can see that they hate the third party lens competition.
They compete with them buy making somewhat shoddily constructed cheap kit
lenses and Canon has no interest in making it's new camera bodies compatible
with some older 3rd party lenses. Canon has waged war with 3rd party makers
with their adds about buying Canon lenses for your Canon camera. Nikon has
    been quiet in this area.
